Florida Foreign-Interference Law Set to Take Effect July 1, Ending China Linkage Institute

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs HB 905, the “Foreign Interference Restriction and Enforcement Act,” into law on May 8, 2026. Office of Gov. Ron DeSantisFlorida cities, public agencies, universities, and other covered entities have less than a month to comply with a new foreign-interference law that takes effect July 1, ending covered sister-city agreements with foreign countries of concern and removing the Florida-China Linkage Institute from state law.
