Historically Low Jobless Claims Signal Stable US Labor Market

Madalina Kilroy/The Epoch TimesThe number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits remained around historically low levels, signaling a stable U.S. labor market.Initial jobless claims fell by 11,000 to 207,000 for the week ending April 11, according to new Department of Labor data released on April 16. This is down from the previous week’s 218,000, which was the highest reading since early February during the storm-driven fallout. Economists had penciled in a level of 215,000.
