Unemployment Rate Rises to 6.8 Percent in December: Statistics Canada

The Canadian Press/Ryan RemiorzThe unemployment rate in Canada has increased despite adding 50,000 full-time jobs to the economy last month, according to Statistics Canada.StatCan said the unemployment rate increased to 6.8 percent in December 2025, up from 6.5 percent in November.
