US Abandoned Foreclosures Decline as Housing Demand Holds Up: Report

Madalina Vasiliu/The Epoch TimesSustained demand and declining housing inventories across the United States have led to a dip in vacant homes, including a slight reduction in homes abandoned by owners where foreclosure proceedings were initiated but not concluded, according to a new report.Nationwide, there were approximately 1.4 million vacant residential properties in the fourth quarter, according to real estate analytics firm Attom, which released its 2025 vacant and zombie foreclosure report on Oct. 28.
