Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty ImagesNATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte met with President Donald Trump at the White House on April 8, following criticism by Trump of the alliance’s lack of support for recent U.S. military operations against Iran.Members of the alliance have been reluctant to send their forces to assist in combat operations against Iran. Throughout the Middle East conflict, several NATO member nations have also denied U.S. forces access to military bases and overflight of their airspace on the way to conduct strikes against Iran.
