AAP Image/Mick TsikasAmid growing voter anxiety about data misuse, “Teal” MP Kate Chaney has introduced a bill to stop political parties from facilitating postal vote applications, warning the loophole is weakening faith in the election system.The Commonwealth Electoral Amendment (Protecting Voters) Bill will require postal vote applications be submitted directly to the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), currently, political parties can act as middlemen.
