Sydney and Melbourne Remain in Top Third of Global Power City Rankings

AAP Image/Bianca De MarchiSydney and Melbourne have held onto their positions in the top third of this year’s annual Global Power City Index (GPCI), according to a study that evaluates the urban competitiveness of 48 major cities.However, with Melbourne, at 13th, and Sydney, at 15th, both have failed to regain the rankings they held before the COVID-19 pandemic, when Sydney placed 10th and Melbourne 11th in 2019.
