President of Madagascar Flees Amid Coup Threat

Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina fled the country on Oct. 13 after warning of an approaching military coup the day before.

Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, a member of the nation’s parliament, confirmed that Rajoelina had departed the island nation, but said his current location is unknown.
