The Canadian Press/Justin TangOttawa is planning to end the electric vehicle sales mandate as part of a new automotive strategy, according to multiple media reports based on government sources.Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to make the announcement Feb. 5 as part of a national strategy for Canada’s automotive sector, replacing the current electric vehicle (EV) sales mandate with new regulations based on emissions and new rebates to encourage Canadians to buy EVs.
