Leaked Audio: Public Safety Minister Expressed Doubts About Gun Buyback in Private Conversation

Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said in a private conversation he doesn’t think municipal police forces will have the resources to enforce the Liberal government’s gun buyback program, according to a leaked audio recording.
The minister had the private conversation on Sept. 21 with an individual he says he has known for “many years.” The individual recorded the conversation without Anandasangaree’s knowledge and leaked the recording to a “gun lobbyist,” Anandasangaree said during question period in the House of Commons on Sept. 22.
