Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has denied reports he plans to announce his resignation before the end of the month, after agreeing to a trade deal with the United States.
Ishiba, 68, has been under pressure to step down as leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) after his party and its coalition partners, Komeito, lost their majority in the upper house of Japan’s parliament in Sunday’s election.
