Iran Announces Strait of Hormuz Is Fully Open During IsraelLebanon Ceasefire

STR/ReutersIranian Foreign Minister Seyed Araghchi has announced that, for the duration of the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, Iranian forces will cease restricting shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the critical oil transit waterway that Tehran has been blocking in retaliation for U.S.-Israeli attacks that has become a focal point in the war.“In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran,” Araghchi said in an April 17 post on social media.
