Fish Oil Reduces Major Cardiovascular Events in Dialysis Patients, Study Finds

Semenaka_Maria/ShutterstockA daily fish oil supplement may reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events for people receiving kidney dialysis treatment, an Australian study has found.Researchers from Monash University found a 43 percent reduction in serious cardiovascular events—heart attack, stroke, cardiac death, and vascular-related amputations—when participants received four grams of fish oil containing EPA and DHA daily.
