Court Permits Churchs Lawsuit Against Montreal Over Fine Tied to US Christian Musician Event

AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana2/3/2026|Updated: 2/3/2026A Quebec court has denied an application by the City of Montreal to toss out a lawsuit filed by a church over a city fine following an event with a U.S. Christian musician.The City issued a $2,500 fine to Ministerios Restauración/Église MR after the event on July 25, 2025, saying the church didn’t have the proper permit for the event. The church had invited musician Sean Feucht to the venue after his permit to perform in Quebec City was cancelled.Chandra Philip is a news reporter with the Canadian edition of The Epoch Times.
