Chalmers to Convene Roundtable on Productivity, Says Tax Reform on the Table

With pressures mounting on the economy, Treasurer Jim Chalmers has flagged productivity, tax reform, and resilience as the core focus areas for Labor’s second term. He says the time calls for ambitious but practical policy action.

In his first major address since Labor’s decisive May election win, Chalmers told the National Press Club that the next phase of economic reform would be “progressive and patriotic … but also practical and pragmatic.”
