Bill Aims to Close Loophole That Allows Chinese Military to Access US Capital

Scott Perry (R-Pa.) on Jan. 14 introduced the Divesting from Communist China’s Military Act, which would sanction and prohibit investment in Chinese military companies on the Pentagon’s blacklist.The Pentagon and Treasury Department currently maintain, for different purposes, separate lists of Chinese companies within the military-industrial complex. The military is prohibited from opening contracts with entities on the Pentagon blacklist, and the Treasury’s list, which is separate from its entity list, prohibits securities transactions with the sanctioned companies.
