Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has called for a report by the town of Jasper on last year’s wildfire to be withdrawn, saying it “overlooks” the efforts by the province in response to the natural disaster.

The fire burned through Jasper in July 2024, forcing the evacuation of about 25,000 residents and visitors, and destroying a third of buildings in the town.
