Wall Street Review: Dow Crosses 51,000 for 1st Time in Extended Rally

Spencer Platt/Getty ImagesThe rally in equities continued for yet another week, with the S&P 500 closing in on 7,600 and the Dow crossing 51,000 for the first time ever amid lower bond yields and strong tech earnings.For the week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 1.49 percent to close at 51,032, just below its new record high set earlier Friday. The S&P 500 increased by 1.8 percent to 7,580, near its record high hit the same day. The Nasdaq Composite soared by 2.58 percent, while the Russell 2000 fared the best, up 2.67 percent.
