David Ryder/ReutersYoung people who identified they were transgender suffered from worse mental health both before and after meeting with specialists, a new study found.Children and others up to the age of 22 in Finland with gender dysphoria, or the belief that their gender identity differed from their sex, had higher rates of psychiatric problems prior to intervention, compared to matched controls, Finnish researchers said in the paper, published on April 4 by the journal Acta Paediatrica.
