The Canadian Press/Nathan DenetteThe province’s top court has ordered a convicted drug trafficker to complete his two-year sentence at home after ruling he endured “unusually harsh” conditions at an Ontario jail.Mohammad Oryia’s sentence for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 “was fit when imposed,” the Ontario Court of Appeal said in a recent ruling. However, the “hardship” he faced at Maplehurst Correctional Complex led the three-judge panel to conclude that the remainder of his sentence be served under house arrest.
