Paul Hawthorne/Getty ImagesFormer intelligence chief Dennis Richardson has explained his abrupt departure from the royal commission examining anti-Semitism and the Bondi terror attack, saying the expansion of his initial review into a full royal commission left him without a clear role.Richardson, a former director-general of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO)  and senior diplomat, resigned just weeks after the inquiry began.
