Ford Recalls More Than 400,000 Explorer Vehicles for Rear-Suspension Toe Link Fracture

Date:

Scott Olson/Getty ImagesThe Ford Motor Company has issued a recall of 412,774 2017–19 Explorer vehicles due to rear-suspension toe links that may fracture. This could result in a loss of steering control, which increases the risk of an accident.A rear toe link is an adjustable suspension part that connects the rear wheel knuckle to the chassis and is used primarily to control the rear wheel’s angle, pointing inward or outward. The rear toe link adds stability to the vehicle and also prevents uneven tire wear. If the part becomes worn or damaged, it can affect the wheel alignment.
