State AGs Warn Almost 80 Companies Against Coordinated Plastic Packaging Standards

Amy Beth Bennett/South Florida Sun-Sentinel via AP, fileA coalition of state attorneys general has sent letters to nearly 80 companies, warning that coordinated attempts to cut plastic content in packaging could potentially violate antitrust and consumer protection laws, the office of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said in a Feb. 10 statement.At issue is those companies’ association with three environmental groups—U.S. Plastics Pact, Consumer Goods Forum, and the Green Blue Institute, which runs the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.
