Hidden Carbon Tax to Push up Gas Prices This Year, Taxpayers Group Says

The Canadian Press/Graham HughesA consumer carbon tax may no longer be elevating prices at the gas pump, but there is another federal tax that has the same effect, a fiscal advocacy group says.The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) notes motorists continue to face elevated prices when filling up their vehicles due to Ottawa’s Clean Fuel Regulations, a federal climate initiative launched in 2023 that is separate from the carbon tax.
