There was no threat of a tsunami after an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 struck near the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region on Saturday, the U.S. National Weather Service’s Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii said.

The United States Geological Survey pegged the earthquake at magnitude 7.4, with a depth of 24.5 miles.
