The RCMP say a Calgary resident has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged child abduction in Airdrie, a city just north of Calgary, after youth engaged in a “catch a predator” scheme.

Airdrie RCMP responded to a report of a child abduction involving a 12-year-old male just before 8 p.m. on Aug. 18, after the youth escaped from the suspect’s vehicle while stopped at a red light and called 911, according to an Aug. 20 news release.
