Denmark’s parliament passed a bill on Wednesday that allows the United States to station military bases on Danish soil.

The legislation comes in response to President Donald Trump’s stated wish to take control of the Scandinavian nation’s semi-autonomous North American territory, Greenland, something he has previously described as an “absolute necessity.“
