A 5.6 magnitude earthquake at Kilkivan west of Gympie has caused rumbles across Queensland and New South Wales (NSW).

Geoscience Australia reported the quake at 9.49 a.m. Aug. 16, with residents across a large section of the state and parts of NSW reporting that their homes had been shaken.
