Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he will travel to Washington to meet U.S. President Donald Trump on Oct. 17 for high-stakes talks expected to focus on bolstering Ukraine’s air defense and expanding its access to long-range weapons, including the possible transfer of U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missiles.

The Ukrainian leader confirmed on social media on Oct. 13 that his delegation—led by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and including senior officials Andriy Yermak and Rustem Umerov—has already departed for the United States. They are slated to hold meetings with U.S. officials, defense contractors, and members of Congress ahead of the presidential encounter.
