America is entering a moment of profound transformation. The institutions that shaped the post-Cold War era are losing legitimacy. Globalization fractured communities, weakened the productive economy, and left millions of Americans disconnected from any larger sense of meaning or national purpose. Now a new struggle is emerging — not simply over politics, but over the future direction of American civilization itself. In this Promethean Overview, Mike explores:• Why modern culture has become consumed by division and self-destruction• Edgar Allan Poe’s warning about chaos and collapse in “The Descent into the Maelstrom”• The rebuilding of American manufacturing, energy, and industrial power• The deeper geopolitical significance of the confrontation with Iran• How globalization transformed both politics and culture• The spiritual crisis facing younger generations today• Why America’s greatest strength has always been creativity, discovery, and faith• The forgotten ideas that built the United States into a world-changing civilizationFrom ancient history and modern geopolitics to Poe, Lincoln, Reagan, and the American founding, this episode examines the battle between collapse and renewal in the modern age.Follow more of Mike’s work: X • https://x.com/stegerMG Substack • mikesteger.substack.com/ SUPPORT PROMETHEAN ACTION OVERVIEWS!Keep Promethean Action Overviews 100% independent for just $10 a month.Your subscription funds every deep-dive into the principles of Western civilization that the mainstream would rather bury — sovereign nations, creative reason, the dignity of man.If you’re serious about reviving what made Western civilization great and want analysis that doesn’t bow to the consensus, subscribe now and stand with us.
