Police Release Details of Child Sexual Abuse Charges Against Former NSW Probationary Cop

The Australian Federal Police have released details of the charges laid against a 26-year-old Australian childcare worker, named as David James, and listed the childcare centres at which he had worked, but they stress there is no evidence of any further offending.

He faces 10 counts of aggravated use of a child under 14 to make child abuse material, nine of which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment; two counts of possessing child abuse material, which has a maximum penalty of 10 years; and one count of contravening the requirements of a warrant—to provide passcodes to his phone—which has a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
