France to Summon US Ambassador Over Remarks on French Activists Death

Omar Marques/Getty ImagesFrench Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Feb. 22 that he would summon the U.S. ambassador to Paris after U.S. officials publicly commented on the killing of 23-year-old conservative French activist Quentin Deranque.Barrot was reacting to statements from the U.S. Embassy in France after Deranque died on Feb. 14 from brain injuries sustained two days earlier during clashes in Lyon between progressive and conservative activists, according to local prosecutors.
