Do Not Travel to Venezuela, State Department Warns Americans

American citizens must not travel to Venezuela because they face an “extremely high” risk of being wrongfully detained by the country’s regime, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a July 23 post on X.

“As of Friday evening, there are no wrongfully detained Americans in Venezuela, and we want to keep it that way,” she said.
