Australia Welcomes USIran Ceasefire

Saul Loeb/AFP via Getty ImagesAustralia has welcomed a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which offers a temporary pause in the conflict and a window for negotiations.On April 8 (Australian time), U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would suspend the bombing of Iran for two weeks, following a request from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir shortly before his 8 p.m. ET deadline.
