U.S. special operations forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Adela Flores de Maduro, in an overnight operation on Jan. 3, and flew them out of the country to face criminal charges in the United States.“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement,” U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday morning.
