Canada Speaks Out Against Chinas Military Drills Around Taiwan

Adek Berry/ AFP via Getty ImagesCanada has criticized China’s decision to conduct large-scale military drills around Taiwan earlier this week, in which Beijing fired missiles and deployed a large number of warplanes and naval vessels near the island.“Canada opposes any unilateral attempts to change the status quo across the Taiwan Strait,” Global Affairs Canada said in a Jan. 1 statement.
