No Deal Expected on US Steel Tariffs as EU Meets US Officials, Sefcovic Says

Nicolas Tucat/AFP via Getty ImagesThe European Union does not expect any deal to ease U.S. steel tariffs during meetings with senior American trade officials this week, European Commissioner for Trade Maros Sefcovic said on Nov. 24, after initial rounds of talks in Brussels.Speaking to reporters following meetings with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Sunday and U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on Monday morning, Sefcovic said the discussions remained a review of current bilateral ties rather than negotiations.
