$2,000 Dividend Can Be Funded by Tariffs, Needs Legislation: Trump Adviser

William Thomas Cain/Getty ImagesThe tariffs imposed by the Trump administration can provide enough funding to send out dividend payments as floated earlier this week by President Donald Trump, said National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett on Thursday.Trump has said he wants to send out a $2,000 dividend sourced from the global tariffs that he imposed starting earlier this year, while saying the duties would also be used to pay off the U.S. national debt.
