Housing Affordability Is Improving as Homebuyers Remain Cautious

New data show that U.S. housing affordability is showing signs of improvement, but other figures indicate that prospective homebuyers are taking a cautious approach.

The recent decline in interest rates has led to housing affordability reaching the best level since early 2023, according to Intercontinental Exchange’s (ICE’s) Mortgage Monitor report, released on Oct. 6.
