NSW Police Officer to Face Court Over Former Greens Candidate’s Protest Injury

A New South Wales (NSW) police officer has been charged with assault following the arrest of former Greens candidate Hannah Thomas during a pro-Palestinian protest in Belmore in Sydney’s west.

Thomas, 35, alleged she was punched by a male officer while being detained outside SEC Plating’s Belmore facility on June 27, leaving her with a serious eye injury.
