Access to several major social media and messaging platforms has been restricted in Turkey following calls for rallies by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), according to a global internet monitoring group.

In a Sept. 7 post on social media platform Mastodon, NetBlocks, a global internet observatory, said that users across Turkey experienced disruptions on X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp, beginning late Sunday evening.
