The U.S. economy is experiencing a “CapEx Comeback” this year as private-sector investment soars, the Treasury Department said.

Capex, short for capital expenditures, refers to investments businesses make to purchase or upgrade industrial equipment, vehicles, technology infrastructure, and machinery.
